Thankful Thursday

The blessings are all around us. We woke up this morning to a glorious day with bright blue skies, no clouds and a crisp temperature with an attitude of gratitude.

I'm going to make a short list of the things I'm grateful for...

1. I am thankful to and for God's faithfulness with me and Alberto
2. I am thankful for Alberto
3. I am thankful for my quirky family and great friends
4. I am thankful for my cleaning lady.
5. I am thankful for my daycare providers who love on Alberto
6. I am thankful for the U.S.
7. I am thankful for Guatemala
8. I am thankful for Pediasure and Pollo Tropical.
9. I am thankful for all the children products and resources
10. I am thankful for all things internet related (email, blogs, forums, google)

I suppose if I sit here long enough, I could come up with an even longer list, more specific. It's important to always know why we are grateful, to show our appreciation and never take one another for granted.

So today on this FIRST American Thanksgiving I share with Alberto, I hope to pass along the tradition of saying "thank you" for those people, places and things that are blessings in our lives.

And learning to be grateful daily...

For our food and our cool new Diego table. "Look guys! I'm a big boy now."

For our health, great weather and fun parks

For friends who share

For our pediatricians and the word "no", especially when we are saying "no" in the pediatrician's office.

And for our camera to capture cool shots.

To all my friends and family: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your love and support, your patience and your prodding. Thank you for helping me to be a better person and a better parent.

Big hug to all!

Ana...

It was a year ago at this time I was impatiently waiting for my pink slip, and a sweet unknown lady named "Ana" sent me the most incredible prayer.

And I prayed that prayer and wept at my computer...knowing God's plans could not be thwarted, even by a foreign government.

And I was incredibly encouraged that God would use someone who didn't even know me, to remind me of the Truth that was already in my heart.

And I found the strength in God to continue on that day and for the several weeks that followed...

Because beautiful people like you took the time to reach out to me and encourage me with God's word.

I, too, am very, very thankful for you today. You have blessed my life in ways you will never know.

I can't wait until we meet in person. I know we will have a blast together.

I love you, OLBFF!!!

Ana,
I LOVE this post! I am with you on all that is on your list. We, who are now moms to these special Guat kiddos are indeed blessed more than usual this Thanksgiving season. Your little man is growing fast... I love that huge and constant smile of his.

I'll also add that I am thankful for kind friends willing to help others learn how to fix their blogs. You and my friends Ashley and Shana have all been so wonderful to me, taking time to tell me what to do, how to do it, and sometimes...doing it for me!
Thank you again for all the blog design info.

take care,
Betsy
