My Son the Comedian

Alberto has a great sense of humor. Today, as I was laying in bed waiting for him to fall asleep. Okay, I confess, as I was napping in my bed while I was waiting and hoping he'd fall asleep, he decided he wanted to practice calling my name. So, he would say, "mami" many many times. That's fine. I would say, "Si Alberto. Duermate" (Yes, Alberto, go to sleep) or "acuestate ya" (lay down already). Finally after doing this for about 30 minutes, I said in a firm voice, "Alberto, ya. Duermate" -- Albert, enough, go to sleep. Mind you, at this point, I had to lift my napping body out of bed and stand in front of his pack-n-play.

You'd think that when your mother, your authority figure, gets up and tells you "enough already" that it would be cause for an "uh oh, she means business" moment. Nope, he laughs. And begins asking me for his "ju" which is either juice or milk depending on the time of day. So, I bring him what's left of his pediasure (he drank it right before going to bed so it was still fresh; for all those thinking I was giving him spoiled milk) -- all the while mumbling to myself how I've spoiled this child and it's all my doing, have no one to blame but myself. I come back to the room, hand him his bottle, and he cradles his teddy bear and feeds the bear and then drinks the rest of his milk.

Okay... this was an "ahhhhh" moment. He went to sleep right after that.

I will have to post pictures tomorrow -- my camera battery died and I have to charge it and in the meantime, get to work. I'm super behind. It's gonna be a Ba hum bug kind of day tomorrow as I have to crunch in a lot of work in a little bit of time. So I'm gonna start now....
