Fit For Fridays

My friend Sandy, from http://www.godspeakstoday.blogspot.com/, has started a Friday Fitness Program. Since I am desperate to get back my pre-adoption body, I need to do something. So, I am going to embark on the 12 weeks program to get my Body for Life back. And since I am a total and complete whimp, I am going to make my faithful and not so faithful readers my accountability partners. Mind you, perhaps depending on the results, you may see the AFTER pictures. I am debating on the BEFORE pictures. YIKES!!

So for my first Fit for Friday post... I have a head cold. Considering that Alberto has had every known Daycare bug in this past month, I was bound to catch something. I am pretty impressed that my immune system has fought off as much as it has. It must be working in a pediatric hospital and becoming immune to most things. I'm grateful to my cold, for leaving me with zilcho appetite and zero desire to do anything physical. So, for today, I drank gallons and gallons of Diet Pepsi, I think 20 oz of flavored water. Hey, it's a start. Hopefully for next Friday, I will let you know how it is going.

If you are interested in jump starting your fitness program or want to look good for the holidays, check out Sandy's blog on Fridays.

But before I check out for today.... As you can see, I haven't posted in a while. Well, I've been exhausted! In a matter of a month, we've had diarreah, coughing, vomitting, nebulizer, diarreah, coughing/croup, and vomitting, sleepless nights and irritable days for mom. Alberto is finally sleeping again -- PRAISE GOD! And, it seems that his bowels are back to normal -- PRAISE GOD! And his cough is under control -- PRAISE GOD! We still have bugars that he won't let me get rid of but I can live with that. The end result of all of this is that Alberto may have food allergies -- which I have to do a RAST test (maybe tomorrow); he may have reflux; and/or other allergies. All I know is that he's fine right now, and that is all my stuffy head can deal with at the moment.

But so you can see how totally and completely horrible he's been feeling, I will include some pictures. Keep in mind, that there are no pictures of me -- I am truly feeling miserable and horrible and there is no way on earth I would put pictures of myself up; vanity remember?

Alberto decided he wasn't going to eat. So, I did an experiment to see if he was on a hunger strike or a Mami feeding me strike. I asked Camille, my four year old niece, to feed Alberto. Being the helpful like "Ruby-like" (refer to Max and Ruby), she was all for it. And surprisingly, Alberto would open his mouth for her. I would try to give him the food. Mouth clenched shut. I handed Camille the spoon, mouth wide open. I am happy to report, that he has stopped rejecting me and started accepting me as a source of feeding...
We went to Build-A-Bear last Sunday with my friend Bibi and her kids. It was our first time there. Bibi was very generous and bought Alberto his first Build-A-Bear, a dog he personally selected but now is afraid of. But while we were there, he just didn't get into the whole Build-A-Bear thing. He thought the bear toys were actually for him to play with. Look at that grip on the football. He's a natural! And yes, the ball went flying all over the place.
We had our first cold front of the season on Monday. Can you see Alberto all bundled up in his warm winter clothes (I know those who actually experience winter are laughing at his light clothing). And by the way, he's coughing here for those who doubt that he's been sick.

"The plane. The plane". Actually, he doesn't say that. He was pointing at a plane, though. Everytime he hears a plane, he gets all excited and points to it. For those thinking that he is longing to return to Guatemala, sorry. My mom taught him "avion" and that's when his affinity for planes started.

He was so cute yesterday pushing his little pushcart. He pushed it all the way down the street and around the corner. He would push and run at the same time. Very cute. I was wondering when he would get tired. Apparently, I under estimated his energy stores. He didn't get tired. After he finished pushing his cart down the street, around the corner, back to the house, he then started playing with the neighbor's fallen coconuts as though they were footballs.

I did say he was feeling better! He's gotten his appetite back -- he even tried to eat a flower (I'll have to post that picture) and a rock -- missed that photo op.

I've definately earned my Mom Stripes this month!!! All in all; life is good.

Ana, you know I hope you feel better. For a little moral support. You are going to be my "role model" for fitness. How's that for a little peer pressure and accountability? You try out the Body for Life plan. If it works for you I will give it a try. After the holidays are over and Kate is home safe and sound. I can only handle so many things at one time. ;)
