Graduating....

I've been a horrible blogging momma! Sorry for being A.W.O.L. May is a busy month in my family. Every one's birthdays, mother's day, and just a very busy time! Add to the mix a two year old who has a lot of energy and is full of life. It's busy but GOOD!!

I knew this day was coming. I was warned. I didn't prepare myself emotionally. Alberto will be going to the K-2 class on Monday. The class is connected to his old class by a jack-n-jill bathroom. Often times, he's played in that room. His other friends have already been advanced. So on Monday, he graduates.

When Teacher Aura reminded me, my eyes watered. I was deeply saddened. They had been great with him, patient, accommodating, and encouraging. Most of all, they were loving. I will still see them every day since we have to walk right by the classroom. This is just another one of those moments where you are reminded that time goes by VERY FAST.

Here a few pictures from the month of May. I didn't take any pictures at his birthday party. I have to get the CD from my brother. I was too busy either running around Alberto, putting out food, talking to my guests or just taking a breather. We had a nice time. It was very hot but the kids had a great time.

"It's my birthday and I can lounge if I want to!"

"Good morning Samson!"

"My new obsession, Cars"

"Mom's attempt to get me to think of something other than Cars, a water park."

"Try again, this place is crowded and the weather is a little ify. I'd rather be chasing lizards."

He literally sat in his stroller and would not get out. The little splash park was pretty crowded with kids running around. He might just not have liked the crowdedness of the place because he does love to play in the sprinklers. We'll try again on a day when it's not so crowded.

Life is good!!!

On the health front: I continue to on my quest of a healthy lifestyle. I have been Diet Pepsi free and marching forward! I have also reduced significantly the amount of processed foods I eat and try to eat mostly natural or organic foods. Yes, it's more expensive. But I think that if I shop smart, I can buy what we eat, have less waste and then at the end of the day it balances out. Not to mention, it's a small investment in our health.

I've lost 5 lbs this months without starving. I have more energy than I did with my caffeine IV. I don't have the crazy cravings. It's pretty amazing. Let's just say that I am shocked at how well I feel -- even on my tired days; lots better than I did before.

Awww, moving up. I too dread the day when Kate will have to move up, but I know that day is coming as well. Until then, I will appreciate her teachers even more. Alberto looks SO cute in those pictures. Congrats on kicking the Diet Pepsi and losing 5 pounds! Huge feat in itself. Keep it up!
