It Was Only a Matter of Time

This evening, I went to Target expecting to spend less than $20.00 and I walked out having spent $102.00. But who could blame me. With the castastrophe of last night....

No, the castrophe is not what lead me to make my blog private -- let's face it after what is happening to Jon and Kate, do I really need my kid's cute pictures on the cover of People Magazine with comments how I am exploiting him? Heck no! Plus, the internet is full of weirdos. I just got creeped out.

But no, that was not what happened. Something worse happened.

When Alberto turned 2, Michelle gifted him among a few other things, the DVD Cars. Well, once he got a taste for Cars, life revolved around Cars. We've seen the DVD in a little over a week almost 20 times. Personally, I'm sick of Cars. Alberto, on the other hand, is NOT.

Yesterday, I put on the DVD at his insistence. I quickly came over to my computer to check emails. After a few minutes, I don't hear Cars in the background. I thought, "could it be over already?" And then, I heard Alberto come to me and say, "mano, Cars". He then takes me by my "mano" hand and walks to me to the TV where the DVD player is open and the DVD is GONE.

Okay, I could not find the DVD ANYWHERE. The earth has swolled the DVD. I can't find it. So, today after I picked him up at daycare, I stopped at Target to get another Cars DVD and was happy that it was on sale for $13.99. But so were a couple others. But so not to only encourage this love and fixation of the TV; I bought him some books. Of course, they were Cars related. And well, he did need socks and while I was at it, maybe a couple pairs of shorts and a couple t-shirts.

Fortunately for me, Alberto didn't want to watch Cars tonight. So we had dinner and then we read about Cars before he went to sleep.
