Can't Is NOT a Word in our Vocabulary

"Can't" is not a word in our vocabulary. Well, honestly, can't is a word in my vocabulary. But Alberto doesn't have to know that -- yet.

The playground was just several yards away but Alberto's eyes were on the trees. There he was looking at trees stretching up into the sky and his imagination must have been working at lightening speed. I say that because rather than darting towards the playground, our familiar place of fun and adventure, Alberto went towards the trees. He touched them, pushed them, and even climbed into one. It was great seeing that his sense of adventure at work.

Fearless and full of adventure!

In a couple hours, I am going to pick up Alberto from his second day of daycare. I think he was pretty much done with that adventure; why? because he wasn't all that thrilled to stay there today. Yep, today we had our meltdown. And I have to be honest with you, I prefer him staying and my feeling slighted over his crying and reaching out for me as I had to turn and walk out the door.... OUCH!!!! STING!!!! GUILT!!!!

Lessons Learned: Becareful what you ask for because you just might get it and it's not what you thought it would be like. Our children are gifts from God, on loan from HIM, and our job is to help them become the people they are created to be. And that requires letting them grow up, climb trees and sometimes, cry... I hope Alberto learns the lesson that even though I drop him off, I will also always be there to pick him up!

Awwww, I'm sure that was hard for you to leave. I would have been bawling all the way to work. I dread the day I have to take Kate to day care. Glad to hear Ike took a Hike!
