Too Cute For Words

Well, Alberto is just too cute for words. This is probably one of the reasons why he's spoiled. Okay, I admit it. It's in print, Internet, on the world wide web. Alberto is spoiled and it's all because I'm a sucker for his cuteness! Take a look at these pictures and tell me if you wouldn't be a goner as well....

These pictures were taken while we were being held hostage by "Sandy"! Just kidding. Well, on the holding us hostage part. But these were taken at Sandy's In-Law's property.

Then of course, there are those moments when he just does things that are so cute. Now, what am I supposed to do with a cute kid who does cute things? I melt....

Loving his new backpack

""I do everything with my backpack, even ride my tricycle"

"See, I can ride my trike and wear my backpack and so whatever if I'm uncomfortable?"

"Ah, freedom!"

On my drive down to Key Largo to meet Sandy, I thought about how my life was different as a single mom versus having been a single woman. I also thought about my personal growth over the past year and the challenges I faced as a mom. And yes, I confess, I do really think about stuff like this and I think about it all the time. Perhaps, that is why I need to have a sense of humor to balance things out. I, therefore, tend to think of life's hard and tough situations with a bit of humor. As Mary Poppins said, "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down."

As I near a milestone birthday, I have become slightly more introspective. Jennifer Anniston and I will be the same age. I hear that 40 is the new 30 and considering that Sandy thought I looked 25, I think I'm doing alright. Now, if only I can drop 25 lbs... But seriously as I did say that I was becoming slightly more introspective, I spent most of my thirties in limbo waiting for that something event that was supposed to make everything click. And that something event was "marriage", well in my case remarriage. I lived in a holding pattern waiting and frustrated because it wasn't happening, because the men I would meet and date would either be commitment-phobes, stuck in the 80's, or adult adolescents which all translates into "not the ONE".

Life took a detour onto a new road, a new journey for me; and I am so appreciative that I decided to be adventurous, not be a victim of my circumstances, but to embrace my God-given abilities, believe that God had not forgotten me, took a leap of faith that brings me to where I am today.

Maybe since 40 is the new 30, it will be a chance for me to have my do-over. The do-over where I actually LIVE each day and appreciate each day rather than WAITING for something better to come along. LIFE IS GOOD! I am BLESSED!! Bring it on! And yes, it helps when people think you are younger than you are! :-)

I agree...he is so adorable that how can you help but give him whatever he wants! My Peter has an Elmo backpack which he just loves to! Being 40 isn't as bad as you think!!

He is absolutely adorable. I would melt too! I LOVE the backpack! Kate has Elmo PJ's x2! Oh, and if you feel the need to stimulate the economy...Target has Elmo Sippy Cups! BPA free too!

You do look 25. As I said, your photos (even the really good ones) don't do you justice.)

Great introspective post. A new decade is a wonderful time to re-evaluate life.

And a sense of humor is definitely the "spoon full of sugar" you suggested.

Were it not for that spoonful of sugar you posess, I wouldn't be so weirdly bonded to you. You make me laugh. And for that, I like you.

Love,
Sandy

As a 44 year old single mom to an awesome Chapina, the 40's are awesome! It will only get better Ana. And by the way, could your little man be any cuter! He is just adorable and I am sure the joy of your life!
